The current Airport is quite noisy, last week it was revving up at 2am in the morning & woke us both up. It regularly operating late at night after midnight & disturbs our sleep. My wife is [REDACTED] & with the current proposals it’s going to be very disruptive, sleeps, noise & Road pollution will only get worse. The fact the council wants to increase areas of residential roads to 4 lanes outside a main area supermarket & schools is not good. I looked at what employment is being offered currently & its minimum wage, zero hours, contracts, need drivers licences, 5 year checkable employment histories, CRB clearance & pass drug tests & I can’t see how the Airport is going to improve prospects for local unemployed. On top of that the Airport owes from all accounts around thousand million to the town, we will never see that. The only winners are the plane companies-Easy jet etc.... The council is meant to meet zero emissions, so that’s not going to happen. The proposal will create more road congestion, noise & polution etc.
