My road goes directly into Eaton Green Road and I am very concerned with the amount of road works proposed in that area. It will force the traffic to use the surrounding roads, eg Fermor Crescent to access my street and the state of the road surfaces there is already terrible, riddled with potholes. Plus it will be a terrible burden on the traffic flow whilst it is going on. I am also very concerned about the proposed changes to Wigmore Park as I access this habitually. The loss of wildlife and free open space to walk on would be devastating to the residents of this area. If you get rid of the park and turn Eaton Green Road into a bigger faster road you will have destroyed the only piece of green land available to the local inhabitants, increased the pollution exponentially and made it much less safe or inviting to walk on. Many people use this road to access both Raynham Way School and Wigmore Primary School and I don’t think there is any provision for how they will be able to do this whilst the works are in place. All the expansion proposed to the airport is for the benefit of people who will access the airport, not for the local residents of Luton who should be the primary concern. There are many, many projects in Luton that need to be completed - for example the road-surfacing I mentioned previously - before any more money is spent on the airport.
