My concern is that Luton Airport regularly allows flights in the early hours of the morning, usually around 4am which is disturbing my wife and my sleep, and so damaging our health. We are both regularly exhausted during the daytime affecting our quality of life and long term sleep depravation is very detrimental to physical and mental health. When we have contacted Luton Airport, they always state the flight is carrying fresh produce and is an allowed exception. They suggest we get triple glazing to soundproof our house. However we would therefore need to keep all windows shut which would mean no fresh air and the house would be too hot to sleep in the summer. If Luton Airport wanted to be a good neighbour and cared about people's health, it would not have flights between 12 am and 6 am. My fear is Luton Airport will expand, increasing disturbance, and once they have expanded they no longer even need to pretend to care about people they affect, so will then become even more blaise about night flights/flight paths low over surrounding towns in Hertfordshire.
