I already live under the flight path especially as aircraft come into land with undercarriage down at a height i estimate of less than 100 metres. I worked for Hawker Siddeley and British Aerospace at Hatfield on aircraft so I do have an understanding of screen heights and final approach trajectory and heights. Currently especially during the summer months aircraft arrive every few minutes and on occasions I have timed them to be at an interval of no more than 3 minutes. This happens all day long from early in the morning 6 to 7 am. to late ino the evening 9 to 10 pm. Further every morning I am woken by aircraft taking off again from 6 to 7 am. as they apply full thrust to climb steeply from take off. Obviously depending on weather conditions and wind direction this affects me more or less. I sleep with the windows shut even on the warmest nights because of the noise and I don't have double glazing. I am a pensioner. I feel an expansion of the airport may be good for the community re jobs but it will be very detrimental to folk like me that have lived here for the past 40 years and seen the aircraft traffic and noise pollution and probably the unseen harmful pollution of aircraft emissions increase exponentially over that time. Is there any concrete consideration for us at all in this proposed airport expansion or are we as a relatively few residents on the final approach to be ignored as usual? This will inevitably blight our properties and life even more than the current conditions won't it?
