The proposals seem balanced and reasonable. There is appropriate mitigation for the proposed loss of parkland to the East of the airport. Luton Airport is a major employer for the local area and directly contributes financially, as a publicly owned asset, to the improvement of the surrounding area. Luton has significantly more poverty than the affluent towns and villages nearby. The economic positives of this proposed expansion are absolutely massive. Aviation is a progressively improving industry environmentally, with engine advancements meaning quieter, cleaner aircraft. The second terminal, with the proposed reconfiguration, will make huge improvements to the way that the airport is able to operate. The proposals will make Luton Airport a flag bearer for greener, more sustainable airport expansion. I thoroughly support the proposed expansion.
