London Luton Airport Expansion

Luton Airport is surrounded by small villages connected by country lanes. I live in Whitwell on the High Street. Traffic has already increased greatly in both number and size of vehicles, as this seems to be the shortest route between Stevenage and Luton, Hitchin and Luton and the A1 and Luton. My main concern is the increased road traffic that expansion will bring on a road/ country lane infrastructure that cannot support it.
