There is a lack of science to show what the impact of this expansion will be on rural communities. The noise pollution created already by the ad6 flight path is unbearable at times and I am terrified what this planned expansion will mean for for a previously quiet area. Luton Airport loses money. The council has over half a billion in loans to pay back. Luton is the most air-polluted town of its size in the country, why make this worse? But Luton council wants to increase passengers from last years 6.2 million up to 32 million per year. Previous expansions have not resulted in many extra jobs for local people. Please think carefully before granting this expansion and consider rural communities. Surely the horrific effects of climate change we are already experiencing should be taken into account when reviewing this preposterous application. The health of the environment is more important than lining people’s pockets.
