Climate change is one of the greatest threats to humanity. Air travel is a large contributor to greenhouse gas emissions - and most calculations do not account for the higher impact these gases have at high altitude. The ability to take a flight is largely dependent on income, so this is an issue of climate justice, as a few wealthier world citizens are negatively impacting the global environment (on which we all depend). If we are to have any chance of curbing climate change, airport expansions should under no circumstances not be allowed to take place. Finally, as a healthcare professional I am very worried about the impact of climate change on health. This must be considered as well.
