I am concerned about the loss of Wigmore Valley Park which I use to walk my dog on a regular basis. There are no other parks of this size nearby which allow dog owners to let their dogs run off lead. There are monthly group dog walks held which help develop community spirit. The park is also used by families with children, for games, picnics and the play area. The skate park is one of the few facilities for local youths. There is also a wide range of plants, including various orchids. There are many houses in the vicinity and the park is a valuable green space which enables many to use it for physical exercise. Loss of the park and expansion of Luton Airport will also mean higher levels of traffic, causing congestion and higher pollution. I strongly object to the proposal for expansion and believe it to be to the detriment of the local community.
