This project fails to support any meaningful ambition to reduce the future consumption of fossil fuels and does so in the face of the growing consensus regarding the need for urgent action to do so. In addition the detrimental noise impact of the change to flight paths and stack patterns that support this expansion are already being noticed in previoulsy quiet areas many miles away from the airport. Further expansion will exacerbate these new problems further and fail to protect tranquil areas that have so far remained relatively undisturbed by noise. A consideration required by the National planning policy framework.
