Air pollution - How can increasing passengers to such high levels be contributing to reducing carbon emissions? Noise levels - I am already concerned about the number of flights with the flight path going right over St Albans. Currently woken by early morning flights which take off over northern St Albans predominantly and certain airlines deviate from the flight path consistently. Who will police this? Cargo flights seem to have no noise restrictions and regularly fly over at 01:15 am waking me. Road infrastructure - will not be able to cope. M1 suffers regular accidents and diverted traffic causes gridlock in St Albans. Rail - will the planned Strategic Rail Freight at Park Street be sharing the same track?
