We are in a climate emergency, people are dying and species are becoming extinct. We need to achieve nett zero as quickly as possible. Fossil fuelled aviation is not compatible with this aim. There must be no further airport expansion, we need to deter flying and we need to provide alternatives. I haven't flown since before covid. I've taken the Eurostar to Amsterdam, I've taken my electric nissan leaf on the Euro shuttle to France and I'm currently on holiday in Devon staying in a new build zero carbon apartment with a heat pump. We need more options, I'd love to able to take a direct train from Luton to a Mediterranean holiday destination, invest your money in this instead.
