The time is past and long gone when people need or require an expanding airport or degradation of green spaces and living conditions. The only benefit of expanding business infrastructure in the local area and indeed nationality is corporate profit. The aim of local government and indeed national government needs to be protection of the environment and a protected adequate sustainable standard of living for all citizens. This can be achieved by stopping the endless search for the expanding economy and directing government resources into providing local jobs for local people even if it means fewer people doing more productive and locally relevant work provided by local businesses and local commerce not international corporations who's only intention is to divert profit out of the country and to increase the personal wealth of the international corporate share holders. This airport expansion is directly designed to achieve this end and is not in the best interests of the local community or indeed the nation.
