Whilst the expansion of Luton airport may bring jobs to the area, it will also have a a negative impact on the health of people living around the area. There will, undoubtedly, also be negative effects on the environment. AIR POLLUTION * Airplane emissions already contribute greatly to global warming. *More planes will add to the harmful chemicals in our contaminated air. * Extra volume of vehicles will add to the already high pollution levels in the area. NOISE POLLUTION *Additional noise during the late evening and throughout the night will cause increased stress and effects on health. * Lack of sleep causes physical and mental health issues. * Noise after 11pm is an offence. Noise from aircraft already wakes residents after 12.30am and at 3am. DISRUPTION *More traffic arriving and departing from the airport will cause even more congestion on our busy roads. Please consider the health impacts on those of us that live in and around Luton as well as the damage on our fragile world.
