I strongly object to the proposed two huge substations at Friston as they will dwarf the small tranquil village and Grade II listed Church and totally disrupt and devastate the lives of the its residents. The proposals must be reassessed to avoid causing enormous and lasting damage to the environment, flora and fauna in this unspoilt area of East Suffolk. The local narrow roads and parts of the A12 are completely inadequate to cope with the impact of the hundreds of daily HGV movements. They would impact severely on local tourism and make it impossible for emergency vehicles to function let alone agricultural vehicles. Renewable energy should not desecrate precious countryside when a more sensible offshore solution could be found.
