As a regular visitor to Aldeburgh I am deeply upset about the potential plans which will impact upon the historic character of the place. One of the reasons I visit regularly is for the relaxation and comfortable pace of life - so important in today's society of being on the go all the time. I visit at many different times of the year and have always found it such a relaxing place - so far unspoilt by outside influences and have subsequently returned home revitalised by my visist. To hear that there may be some compulsory purchasing of land along Saxmundham Road/Leiston Road fills me with horror. There is no need to destroy the access to the heart of the town. Why spoil such a lovely place when alternative routes (with much less disruption) can be accessed. The whole landscape of such a lovely town would be ruined and Aldeburgh would lose valuable tourism and result in it becoming a ghost town.
