I wish to register my objection to the applications. Apart from the obvious problems of visual impact and noise pollution from the substations, there is the serious issue of FLOOD RISK. The run off from the surrounding fields already causes problems in our village and this would continue to be the case, but with the addition of surface water drainage from this massive site. As a CIVIL ENGINEER I am of the option that the drainage through the centre of the village would drastically need to be UPGRADED!! This means excavating and re-cultivating with all that it involves. This assuming that the proposed drainage can be connected at the Church Road end with the road levels and foul drainage (which crosses under the present ditch). This work then makes the heart of our village part if the SITE!!!! It cannot be allowed and I fully support SASES and our PARISH COUNCIL regarding this. We are in the process of TRYING to sell our house and unless we reduce our home by several thousand pounds it is looking as we are stuck here. We have already LOST a couple of would be purchases, as who wants to live in a village covered in concrete and also the ridiculous amounts of traffic with the unknown amount of time to complete if this goes ahead!!!!! Surely we as human beings have the right to this.
