We wish to object to the siting of Scottish Power Renewables project East Anglia One North's substation at Friston and the cable route through the Parish of Aldringham. It is evident that this project is the first of a number of infrastructure project to land at Thorpeness and make their way across the parish, in this case to Friston, but with others to follow. The creation of the so-called 'Energy Coast' has been ill thought out with so many projects fighting for space in our very beautiful corner of England. The cumulative effects of these energy projects will seriously damage our tourist economy, protected wildlife and landscape for the next decade. There has been no central planning to ensure that the cable route of this project will not be excavated in the coming years to accommodate further such projects. This is too much for this fragile area. The number of projects planned require a different co-ordinated approach. An answer could be to cancel the construction of the unnecessary Sizewell C and land all of these on that site. To keep threading route after route through this narrow corridor is unbelievably short-sighted. All of these projects should be suspended until a centrally planned solution is ironed out for them to follow. This could mean an offshore 'ring main' with one landing point at Sizewell. It beggars belief that this piecemeal approach seems to enacted. It does not make sense!
