I wish to object to to the Scottish Power Renewables planning application for East Anglia One North. I am writing on behalf of myself and also in my role as Chairman of Saxmundham Museum. The planning application, if successful, will devastate great swathes of the Suffolk Coastal Countryside, both during its construction and once it is operational. This area of the Suffolk Coast is simply not suitable for a development of this kind/ size and would have a huge detrimental affect on the local tourist industry. There has been no "joined up" thinking for this development and the large number of other energy projects currently planned for the area. It would spell economic disaster for the region, which only has agriculture and tourism to support it. Whilst in general favour of off-shore wind, the fact that no consideration has been given to its connection to the National Grid in a consolidated fashion is totally unbelievable.
