I am in favour of renewable energy production but the impact of schemes such as this have to be minimised on shore. I, like many other members of the public was unaware of the huge scale of the infrastructure required to utilise the power generated. For a rural community to have such a vast industrial sub-station constructed where there are alternative areas already built to accommodate incoming power (at Burstall near Bramford), is an unnecessary blight and irreversibly damaging development in a large rural community that will have its peace diminished and the local tourism business ruined. The decision not to use Bramford can only be a financial one brought about by the contract conditions between the suppliers of these projects. It would be far more beneficial for all communities for this sub-station to sited in a brownfield or already developed site even if this were to be more costly in monetary terms it would be the right thing to do.
