I wish to protest because overall these plans will ruin the tourist industry which has brought money to a poor seaside villages. Noise and air pollution will affect people’s health; [Redacted] may have to move if the air pollution is very bad. The narrow roads are not suitable for heavy vehicles and there will inevitably be delays in the emergency services reaching the affected towns and villages. If your HGVs come into Aldeburgh, this will affect the primary and secondary school children, as they cross the Saxmundham and Leiston Roads. Cable trenches are too close to residential homes, including our only Nursing Home at Aldringhamk. Walking, bicycling and riding will be affected; all these have been promoted by the District Council for our health. The Thorpeness Cliffs are not suitable as site for landing cables - too fragile Cable trenches and haul roads too close to residential homes. Local road network unsuitable for the articulated HGVs. The emergency services will be delayed. This area has worked hard to build up tourism; we are not a rich area. This will be spoilt. Business will therefore collapse. Footpaths, bridleways and cycle paths will disappear - what about our health? Air pollution will force people [Redacted] to either stay indoors or move. Cable trenches will affect people’s homes and in particular for me, our only Nursing Home in this area, at Aldringham. Why can’t you build a road through fields so that the traffic won’t ruin people’s lives? The Friston substation will probably cause more flooding.
