This project is ill advised and will blight local communities. High House Farm, a listed building, will be especially harmed. So will the wildlife. The site itself is unnecessary as a ring main could be organised for offshore wind farms with better planning. SPR and NG plan a series of constructions at Friston which will be a hub or plug and socket for a series of ventures. The Authority must resist attempts by SPR/NG to argue that this is a one-off and determine the extent of these plans and assess impact cumulatively. There is no joined up Government thinking or strategy to protect the environment. The lengthy construction periods will destroy the peace for much of local people’s lives. There is no protection against noise. There is no protection against light pollution. Views will be blocked and the area will be blighted by traffic congestion.
