I do feel that if this construction has to go ahead in Suffolk that it would be lost at Sizewell and not so noticeable as it would be at Friston where it will stick out like a sore thumb on virgin land. This is a beautiful part of the world. It has a subtle beauty not majestic like Scotland. It needs to be preserved and conserved. I worry about the impact on the landsape and on the local flora and fauna part of the charm of Suffolk is its comparative inaccessibility and the winding ancient roadways. Please read Julian Tennyson's book Suffolk Scene the 1930's version not the one that someone has recently updated. I think these plans are short term as new technologies are being developed. Small substations would be a better option for the very sensitive habitats in this area. It may create a few jobs but at the loss of tourism, hotels and road access for the local people.
