I fear that if this is allowed to go ahead there will be an onslaught of at least six more substations and interconnectors following on in quick succession. There will be cumulative impact on local communities of up to 7 energy projects occurring over the next 15 years. Thorpeness cliffs are fragile and unsuitable as a site for landing cables. environmentally sensitive areas will be destroyed, where the cables are laid. Trenches and haul raods are too c lose to residential homes Impact on businesses. Loss of trade, visitor income, jobs which will lead to ec onomic and social decline. Traffic congestion and relates issues will deter tourism from coming to the area. Local bird reserve at minsmere will be effected as migratory birds will be disorientated Effect on wildlife. I wish to object to these ill-concieved plans to carve up East suffolks unique countrtyside from Thorpeness to Friston. If these are allowed to go ahead there will be a further 6 more substations in quick succession. The reasons are because of the threat to wildlife and the important sandlings heath, the destruction of ancient woodland. The local road network is unsuitable for the high traffic levels and more HGVs. Light pollution, Suffolks famous dark skies lost. Noise pollutions Suffolks famous peace and tranquility lost. Air pollution from traffoic and trenches dug through suffolks light sandy soil which blows away causing visibility hazard and health issues. Increased traffic on roads, a danger to cyclists and residents. Emergency services will be delayed, endangering lives. I n the event of a nuclear incident routes would be severely hampered. Permanent and temporary closure of public rights of way eg footpaths and bridleways Impact on businesses, loss of trade, visitor income and jobs leading to social and econo mic decline.; Effect on migrating birds and the effects on minsmeres famous bird reserve loss of wwisldlife , tourism woodland migrating birds roads unsuitrable light noise pollution emergency services effected trade topurism c losure of footpaths
