As a resident of Friston, I fully support the representations made by SASES/Friston Parish Council and the individual points they make, particularly regarding the impact on Friston itself. These include not only the extended period of disruption during construction, but also the long term effects of:- • Loss of footpaths • Light pollution • Noise pollution • Increased risk of flooding from the development in combination with climate change Generally I fear for the negative effect on the AONB and all it represents. Long term works along the cable route will completely sever the AONB at one of its narrowest points and disrupt access to the countryside over a wide area. There is a high risk of permanent long term damage. The Suffolk coast is heavily dependent on tourism and retirees with the wider economy these support. The proposals will greatly diminish both these sectors, generating a long term decline in the communities this area supports. This is further compounded by the lack of any long term employment the onshore development would offer.
