The proposed siting and construction of a substation to connect Scottish Power Renewables (SPR) EA1N windfarm is completely inappropriate. SPR and National Grid have selected this site due to project changes that are commercially beneficial to them over the initially proposed connection through Bawdsey landfall site. The result is large scale local impact and environmental damage of which local communities have no control. These energy infrastructure projects illustrate a deficient energy strategy and ad hoc process for the connection to National Grid infrastructure.
