The detrimental impact on local communities of possibly 7 energy projects which may take up to fifteen years to complete. The use of unspoilt countryside at Friston for huge substation complexes the size of Wembley Stadium dangerously close and dominating a small village which has a history of flooding. The siting of landing cables at Thorpeness Cliffs which are fragile and unsuitable. The destruction of environmentally sensitive areas by laying 11Km of cable in trenches across the countryside often too close to residential areas with a threat to wild life and the important Sandlings Heath The destruction of ancient woodland, and the closure of footpaths, bridleways and cycle paths will all change the local amenities for visitors and residents. Our network of local roads are unsuitable for the high increased traffic levels engendered by HGVs [ at present two coaches cannot pass each other along most of the road from the A12 to Aldeburgh]The increased traffic will have a dangerous impact on the Emergency Services, local traffic and cyclists. Light pollution, Noise pollution and Air pollution are all factors that need to be addressed. The impact on tourism will only be known when it is too late to change the situation. Loss of trade, visitor income and employment will all be affected. .
