I wish to object to this Scottish Power Renewables planning application for the following reasons: - unsuitability and fragility of the Thorpeness cliffs as site for landing cables. - long lines (11km I believe!) of cable trenches destroying environmentally sensitive areas - proximity of cable trenches and haul roads too close to residential homes - destroying parts of Suffolk coast and swathes of AONB causing major problems to nature and wildlife - local businesses in and around ALDEBURGH will doubtless be adversely affected by the proposals - they should be helped and encouraged, not hindered and hampered - local roads unsuitable for the high traffic levels and more HGVs. This area is a cyclists paradise but even now the roads are narrow and just wide enough for two cars passing so not comfortable for a cyclist or a walker - light pollution and air pollution and noise pollution - as a member of ALDEBURGH Golf Club I have frequently seen the perils of crossing the Saxmundham Road by the club entrance, and this will only dangerously exacerbate the problem. A danger to golfers and walkers along the public footpaths, the elderly and the young - the Saxmundham Road is the principal access road to ALDEBURGH and I witness many emergency vehicles using it for (presumably) life-threatening situations in and around the town. Again, the proposals will only hinder their missions.
