Whilst very much in favour of all renewables - solar and wind, I wish to object to this Scottish Power Renewables planning application for the following reasons in particular. The use of unspoilt countryside at Friston for a substation complex which I believe could be the size of Wembley Stadium, plus all the kilometres of cable trenches which will destroy environmentally sensitive areas. The local road network is completely unsuitable for the high traffic levels. Noise, air and light pollution will destroy the very attributes which make Suffolk the special, peaceful and attractive place that is wanted by tourists as well as residents. Tourism now an extremely important part of Suffolk's economy. Could not alternative solutions be found for transferring the energy from the wind farms to the National Grid? There must be sites nearer to the coast and which are at present brown field sites( say in Lowestoft? ) Where the erection of a substation could be of more positive benefit to the local communities.
