I would like to object to the Planning application for the above project on the following grounds. There are multiple objections in terms of dislocation within our parish the cable routes and the siting of the substation at Friston and the dispoiling of the AONB and the landscape in general, but the major objection must be the sheer number of similar projects that are about to happen consecutively in this tiny corner of East Anglia. There is seemingly no co-ordination among these schemes and this will almost certainly lead to each following the last, as they dig up the same route, and as fast as each project will end. On top of this there is the construction of a new nuclear power station at Sizewell, a part of our parish, which could take over a decade to build, and looks to be a 'white elephant'. There must be a moratorium on all these seven projects until an integrated scheme can be developed. If this means an offshore ring main with one landfall to the grid, then Sizewell would seem an ideal spot, rather than constantly excavating the same space and ruining our natural environment. It is time for government to take a grip of this.
