- pollutants from the plant reducing the air quality in the area * increase in traffic on roads that are already congested and in events such as road closures following accidents etc. Alternative routes are completely unsuitable,for heavy traffic * incineration is not an acceptable alternative to landfill. The effort should be put into putting pressure on companies to reduce non recyclable products and packaging
