This incinerator, in its lifetime, will release 25 million tonnes of CO2, which will exacerbate climate change and negate the government's own policy to be net carbon Neutral by 2050. This incinerator, by requiring that waste for burning, will be collected from 12 authorities from 9 counties, using convoys of lorries, this goes against the 'Localism' passage in the new Environment act, that declares that waste should be dealt with at a local level.
