PLEASE PLEASE do not build the Rampion 2 substation so close to Cowfold village. The village does struggle for some peace and calm as a place to live as we do have to tolerate a huge amount of pollution from the sheer volume of traffic that uses Cowfold a the major crossroad in Sussex. We are surrounded by some peaceful beautiful countryside which does make up the fact that inside the village we have to suffer with the dangers of the narrow pavements risking our lives on such a crazily busy road and huge lorries thundering through the village. To build a massive substation SO close to Cowfold is incomprehendible. Impacts: Noise More traffic = more village pollution - I believe pollution has already been measured in the village and it is at a dangerous level Loss of value in our houses ( no one will want to buy a house in Cowfold) Will the building of this really be green? destroying local wildlife habitat and trees Will windfarm energy actually be any cheaper for households in the long run or will you run into a snag later on and see its not that much more cost effective. PLEASE if you insist on Rampion 2 please reconsider looking at a site not so close to a village. 2km is way too close. Please look at moving it further away either north, south east or west. The staff that work at Oakendene will they be safe so close to EMF? Will the villagers of Cowfold be safe from EMF? Its far too close. I am personally petrified about Rampion 2 and what will happen to our village. It is such a huge industrial destructive situation and I actually do BEG you to reconsider. If it has to be built then please stop to think how would you feel if this was happening 2km outside of your village which is currently surrounding by countryside? Be honest with yourselves, how would you really feel. I am sure you would want to stop it going ahead. The south coast look so unsightly even now we cant even look out to sea and enjoy the views without seeing industrial windfarms. Are they really worth it with the power that they produce? I cant beg you enough please dont do this to Cowfold. I knew nothing about Rampion 2 until someone put something on the Cowfold Facebook page about their horror.
