I am very concerned that Rampion2 intend to use Kent Street as an access to their main Oakendean site and their cable workings.Kent Street is a narrow single track country lane with few usable passing places. It has a 6 ft 6 inch width restriction for through traffic and you dare not veer of the road in the winter as there is always the danger of getting stuck as there are totally saturated water logged verges.Kent Street is totally unsuitable for any kind of construction access, indeed Rampion 2 described Kent Street in their 2020 scoping report as > a single track lane unsuitable for HGVS> but this is precisely what they are know planning to do.This is totally unacceptable. I am also extremely concerned about the flow of traffic on the A272 and the effect the very large number of Rampion2 HGV movements are going to have on it.The A272 is a very busy road and getting gradually busier year on year.We have long tailbacks of traffic every morning and evening caused by the huge volume of traffic trying to get through the two roundabouts in Cowfold. These tailbacks usually stretch as far back as the entrance to the Oakendean Industrial Estate and quite often as far as the junction with Kent Street and Picts Lane which drivers then use as a rat run to try and get round the tailback. It’s chaos. If the Ramion 2 project is allowed to proceed in its current form I can see the traffic on the A272 coming to a grinding halt.
