Although I support wind farms, I object to Rampion 2. It is an excessive extension, in the wrong location, too close to shore, with turbines that are too large. They will compromise the seascape, damage the kelp forest that has just started to regenerate after trawling has been banned. They will be less efficient than turbines located further off shore which would be less intrusive to local population. If located further off shore there would be less light pollution (the red warning beacons on the existing turbines are clearly visible), cause less damage to the environment and the tourist industry on this part of the Sussex Coast. In brief, an overdevelopment which puts private profit ahead of sensible and cost effective green energy production.
