We are very concerned about the impact the Rampion 2 proposal will have on the area around where we live. Aside from Rampion 2 being very much an Onshore development (despite being touted as an Offshore one), the impact on the local area will be devastating. There are alternative sites in Wineham that would be more suitable. The A272 is a major road for many commuters and lorries. Whenever there are accidents on the A272, traffic attempts to divert itself up Pict Lane, Spronketts Lane, Colwood lane, etc - roads which are not capable of sustaining large volumes of traffic. Many of the edges of the single track roads are eroded and dangerous for passing vehicles. This was demonstrated recently by the tipping over of a horse trailer. Drivers who generally use the main A272 do not apper to understand the rules of using country lanes - passing places, how to overtake horses and cyclists safely and generally how not to cause gridlock! This development seems to have been slipped through, under the wire, without proper consultation.
