I am objecting to the wind farm proposals. I agree with the need to find new energy sources, but this scheme will be harmful to the environment, will cause major disruption in its creation, and all for a value and effectiveness which I question. I'm very concerned about the damage to the National Park and to the unspoilt countryside around it, including that near to us at Littlehampton, and about the years of disruption as well. I understand a great barrier like this out at sea will destroy bird migratory patterns - I've been pleased to see the variety of sea-birds on the beach in recent years. Under the water I fear it will damage the kelp regeneration scheme, which is now showing beneficial results. The great height of the proposed masts will make Littlehampton less attractive as a place for visiting or living - its open and unspoilt coast is a particular attraction and strength, unusual in comparison with other nearby resorts and good for its commerce and community life, both of which need to grow. And how effective will it really be? and will its cost justify the results? This is the wrong place for such a scheme.
