I am opposed to the Rampion 2 development. My reasons are as follows: The lack of initial consultation with the population of Cowfold. The potential impact on the village is going to impact its daily life - increased traffic flow during the prolonged construction period, thus increasing pollution in the village centre, where there are two mini-roundabouts which cause frequent traffic build-up on the A272, where it crosses the A281. This will also send the vast number of HGVs delivering around what are essentially single carriageway country lanes. A recent accident on the A272 provided an excellent example of the traffic chaos that might be expected. This congestion will also impact the various small businesses in and around the village. Also to be considered is the visual impact of the whole project around the neighbouring countryside, to say nothing of the impact and loss of habitat for various elements of the wildlife residing in the countryside, notably hazel dormice, otters and water voles. Finally, the prospect of a solar farm on the eastern side of the village across the A272 will see disruption on both sides of the village simultaneously. THIS IS A BAD IDEA, BADLY EXECUTED. PLEASE KILL THE PROJECT.
