I do not approve this proposed project. The effect on Cowfold residents will be enormous. Just this morning at 10am we drove across to Bolney. There was a very short section of traffic lights, but they held us up for 10 - 15 minutes, almost making us late for our appointment. This is a problem outside of rush hours, for a very short section, I cannot imagine the difficulties that will be caused every day for 6 years. The people of Cowfold were not properly consulted in the initial proposals, making it much harder to put our point of view in any meaningful way. The first we knew about it was when we received the documents relating to the second round of discussions. We attended the Rampion meeting in Allmond Centre. It was obvious that no-one there from Rampion had any idea of the effect on the traffic locally as a result of their proposals. Cowfold currently suffers from high levels of pollution caused by traffic. Any additional hold-ups caused by the lorries attending the proposed site will involve a further build up of traffic in and around the village, and hence further pollution. We moved to Cowfold to get a better quality of life than in a city or large town, but we feel we are being surrounded by large scale industrialisation, which will make enjoyment of our surroundings much harder.
