Objection to Rampion 2 Offshore Wind Farm Reasons as follows: 1. The location of the mass array of 90 turbines and offshore sub stations positioned 8 miles from shore – Government OESEA2 guide lines that all offshore wind projects should actually a minimum of 12 nautical miles (14 miles) from shore. 2. The Government OESEA3 white paper report confirms that offshore wind farms for the turbine heights proposed for Rampion 2, should be positioned a minimum of 25 miles from sensitive areas such as the South Downs. 3. The power output for Rampion 1 has fallen by 2.25% due to lack of wind power this summer. 4. View of 90 wind turbines, plus existing ones making up 50 miles will show huge number of unsightly blades in multiple positions while moving/still independently. In addition 5 offshore sub stations positioned somewhere the mass of turbines. 5. The view for the residents and visitors will see from the beaches a mass of imposing array of offshore turbines from Brighton to Bognor Regis. This will impact of the local revenues, jobs and viability of businesses in the towns and villages along this section of West Sussex. Suggestion that this proposal should located elsewhere to reduce the impact on local community. 4. Impact on wildlife generally that are free to use the space above and below the sea. 5. Generally fishermen who use this area for their livelihood will greatly be affected by the loss of breeding grounds and habitats for marine life, including crab and lobster. 6. The cabling routes that will be routed under the shore line and into countryside from Climping through the South Downs National Park and to the new sub station in Cowfold. 7. Timescale of the excavations etc for this proposal will cause a great deal of disruption to the community and the loss of visitors coming to our area. Richard Westcott 6 Nov 2023
