The national interest is not for unproven carbon capture programs such as the Drax proposal to go ahead. The local impact and broader concerns about burning trees together with the chemicals involved have serious implications for the planet. Companies who's primary goal is about profit can no longer be allowed to continue in the same vein. Government and planners must act responsibly to protect people and the environment. There must be full consultation with local people, environmentalists and experts.
