Dear Sir / Madam, I wish to object to Drax’s application to add carbon capture technology to two of its wood-burning units. I am objecting because I believe the proposal is not a sustainable development as defined in the National Planning Policy Framework [Redacted] , since it is not compatible with increasing productivity, supporting communities’ health, protecting our natural environment or improving biodiversity. I live in the southern United States and I've seen first hand the devastation to forests particularly coastal wetland forests. I've heard from people living in proximity to the biomass facilities that supply Draxx about the pollution and disruption to daily life, the adverse health effects especially among the young and the elderly. The burning of wood for energy is not carbon neutral and it's characterization several years ago as a "green energy" was an unfortunate erroneous decision that needs to be corrected. Thank you for taking the time to make this very important decision that will have far reaching consequences.
