Drax Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage Project

I wish to object to Drax’s application to add carbon capture technology to two of its wood-burning units. This is untested technology. There proposals do not include a complete system. It requires a lot of extra energy and dangerous chemicals. I believe Drax are trying to get more subsidies. Biomass burning is not carbon neutral and there are already a lot of concerns regarding the ecological damage from the harvesting and transporting of wood. This is just greenwashing, with no environmental benefit. I urge you to take note of these concerns and refuse permission for Drax’s BECCS application.
