Short term, noise and additional traffic. Long term risk to human health, my life and those of my family due to risk associated with chemical and gas emissions. Research highlights that the biproducts are probable carcigenic that can cause cancer. Born a local resident I have become increasingly aware over the years, [Redacted] the number of people who have been diagnosed with cancer that live in and around the vicinity of Drax and the previous power stations.I strongly believe these are of a higher than national average and related to local pollution levels. I am also concerned about the destruction and loss of local wildlife, no wildlife will eventually lead to no human life. This proposal is a backward step. The subsidies Drax receive should be diverted to a much cheaper and cleaner Green alternative, this money would go a long way in creating a carbon neutral alternatives without the known risks to health and the environment and will stop the need to burn trees again proven not to be a sustainable solution. Consideration must be given to the long term health of our children and the planet, the consequences of not doing so are well researched, they will be catastrophic.
