This project will support ongoing development of biomass energy production rather than limit such production. The world needs trees and all other plant material to prevent climate destruction. Biomass generation is not an ecological solution to human energy needs. The biosphere needs forests and woodlands to be a multi-diverse environment, the circle of life cannot be protected in a unitary woodland setting. Carbon capture by plants is the only successful carbon capture process and it should be protected. Energy production is necessary. But the energy market has been horrendously skewed towards global business with our government supporting this through eye-watering subsidies. This includes Drax. A principled, moral and truly economic solution to our energy needs must be through easily, infinitely accessible truly renewable sources. The Drax formula does not include how long it takes to renew multi-diverse forests, the energy required to transport the material and the damage done to the biosphere. No to Drax expansion.
