I fail to see why it would be appropriate to deploy carbon capture technology for a power station using genuinely renewable sources of energy when the equivalent amount of carbon is already being removed by the biomass that is meant to be replacing that being burned. The amount of energy that is estimated to be needed for this is far too great and renders the whole operation excessively wasteful. It seems clear to me that this would represent an even greater waste of taxpayers money than the millions of £s already being paid to Drax for incentivising use of renewable fuels when it is clear that much of the wood being burned is from whole trees taken by clear felling of semi-natural woodland that in cannot be replaced by plantation forestry.
