My view is that such a solar project should be built on an existing brown field site which already has infrastructure such as roads, drains etc. This proposed farm is close to a village, school and houses. The proposed site would negatively impact on the quality of the local roads, increase traffic volumes through the village and pose an increased safety risk of accidents for children and elderly residents in particular. The proposed site is close to the local school and houses and would impact air quality and noise pollution for the community. The proposed site would also impact the local drainage systems which are already overwhelmed and flood regularly. The proposed farm will drain differently to the current farming land which will increase flooding and change the land usage for future generations. Surely there is brownfield land available in the area which can be used.
