We are very concerned about this Solar Project as we live in Walton On Trent. The village has already been terribly impacted by the Drakelow Housing development which has caused a huge spike in volume of cars and lorries coming through the village which is already way past capacity. We’ve also seen the worst flooding in the village on record, which is all being increased due to the surface run off of all of these developments. What was a dream village to live in is now becoming a nightmare rat run. Just getting out of the village in the morning is standstill gridlock. The village is protected as an area of outstanding natural beauty and you would not think it with the volume of cars, vans trucks etc coming through the village. The infrastructure is already not suitable for the volume already coming into the village, with the need of a new bridge due to how badly the traffic is increasing. To have the council consider allowing such a huge project with infrastructural issues already being this bad is so frustrating. It is again poor planning and not thinking of the local people once again just for business gain. It is very disappointing if Derbyshire council allows this to go ahead when they should be doing their best to protect these beautiful areas. In the surround area this is one of the nicest villages and it’s being ruined by the potential new Bailey bridge and works on A38 and Drakelow developments. Very disappointing that this is being considered.
