I wish to register my objections to the Oakland’s Farm Solar Farm Ltd proposal. The loss of over 400 acres of prime agricultural land to be dug up and covered in unsightly solar panels is a disgrace. How can it be environmentally friendly to dig up hedgerows and the removal of trees which have taken decades if not centuries destroying the wildlife and their habitats. All this for a project which is only to have a working life of 40 years, but will have blighted the landscape and left it polluted and forever. I would also bring your attention to the flooding that has taken place in all of the villages mentioned, Walton, Rosliston and Coton in the Elms, which at times has literally brought the roads to a standstill, due to the ever increasing building on surrounding fields leaving no where for the water to go. As to the the travel disruption, most of the roads have a 7.5 Tonne weight limit, besides being small narrow country roads which HGV drivers will have trouble negotiating. Finally, I would reiterate, how can it be environmentally friendly to pollute prime agriculture land, to destroy the habitats of wildlife by digging up hedgerows and chopping down trees for a project that only has a working lifespan of 40 years, but the ramifications will last for decades.
