I abhor the loss of good quality farm land for this purpose. We have had masses of building of both housing and warehouses in the vicinity where solar panels should have been part of that planning permission process. There are implications for the destruction of the local rural landscape- illustrations are endless areas of land covering good productive land but little or none of the obscene battery storage facilities! Increase of traffic ( HGV) in an area where the roads are already unable to cope is ludicrous. Noise pollution etc - what hope of this contributing to the government net zero promises ? Often regarded as the bit of Derbyshire that the County council forgets- clearly we are to be sacrificed at the cost of traditional Derbys areas like the Peak District. We’ve been affected by recent flooding- unable to leave the village on occasions- yet more irresponsible use of land is to be accepted? Impact on wildlife? Immeasurable but clearly unimportant to those who pursue this course of action. I despair of the decision.
